Developed the design rights for a highly innovative, fast-cycling, movable carrier, injection moulding machine for plastics.


Patented design features that:

                    - can be applied to Standard and Special Purpose Indestep Machines;

                    - apply to the machine and the associated mould tooling.


Now being sold as Special Purpose Machines.

The Indestep Machines compete with `state of the art' conventional non-rotary horizontal

machines that require much larger clamping tonnages and use multiple cavity tooling

to achieve `economies of scale'.

General Advantages: -

The benefits include a fast cycling compact machine which should be

only slightly larger than an equivalent tonnage machine

but having a throughput equivalent to a machine requiring four times the tonnage,

with reductions in overall machinery costs and especially mould tooling costs.


Design Summary

The Company's latest basic designs use a revolutionary patented concept

and a highly innovative injection system that has an integral hot runner system

as part of the machine's injection unit, thereby being able to produce sprueless mouldings.

Injection is straight into the cavity or cavities

without the need of a hot runner system in each mould.


The major benefits of this is substantially reduced tooling costs

as the hot runner system is purchased just once with the machine,

with further savings achieved by the use of standard mould base sets

that allow the use of interchangeable

cavities, cores, ejector pins and any internal-to-the-mould devices,

for the specific mouldings to be produced.


The choice of the rotary table machine concept was to take advantage of

the multiple functions that can take place at the same time at different stations,

combined with the well known advantage of reduced cycle time

when cooling is a major proportion of the moulding cycle.


The rotary designed machines can also readily incorporate inserts,

two material moulding (by the addition of a second injection unit at another station)

and other automated facilities.


This makes the machine ideally suited to producing technical

(as well as general) plastics moulding

and for use in 'value added' moulding work.
